Our Uganda team made it safely to Uganda today with yet ANOTHER smooth sailing though customs with no questions asked. God continues to shower them with His grace and favor! All are well and having such fun serving these precious people. They are a close team with lots of silliness along the way. Yesterday was an amazing day at ROCO 20 school in Kenya partnering with Open Door Missions. They conducted a medical clinic for the grandmothers who weave baskets to give 10% of their income to the school as well as to generate an income for themselves. They were adorable and full of spunk! You can buy their baskets when the team returns! The Uganda team leader, Cathy, also had to join in with them for the “CuCu” (pronounced “show-show”) exercise class. While having fun with the CuCus some of the guys worked on electrical wiring for the school while others repaired torn clothing for the children or just played and loved on the kids. All had a wonderful Kenyan prepared meal together on top of a deck to enjoy the view. Tomorrow we are off to a small village in Uganda to do a large medical screening, partnering with local doctors and nurses. The team expects to treat 100-200 people who have been told we are coming. Pastor Moses Kaziba‘s team will also share the gospel and do discipleship training with some groups. In the mean time Jessica Smith, a quilter, will be teaching a quilting class to the women of the Mustard Seed Faith Community Ministries and there will be soccer play for the children. It will be a VERY full day. Thanks for your prayers. Pray for continued stamina as we are all a bit tired from all of the travel and lack of sleep. Also pray that those we come in contact will see the love that the team hopes to reflect.
